Can Cannabis Relieve Menopause Symptoms?

Dr. Staci Gruber and Dr. M. Kathryn Dahlgren spoke with Claire Wolters of VeryWell Health in the latest coverage of MIND's recent publication, A Survey of Medical Cannabis Use During Perimenopause and Postmenopause, in the journal Menopause. "The reality is people are using cannabis. And based on patients’ perceptions, it seems to be helping relieve symptoms,"says Dr. Sameena Rahman, a board-certified OB-GYN at the Center for Gynecology and Cosmetics in Chicago. Findings from the study show top menopause-related symptoms for medical cannabis use were sleep and mood; Dr. Gruber mentions that those who used cannabis appeared to experience a clear benefit. Dr. Dahlgren tells Wolters that "This study is a springboard, a foundation, for future research looking at medical cannabis use for menopause-related symptoms".
